DNA sexing services can be performed with blood, feather or eggshell membrane samples that are equally reliable for testing and give our customers several alternatives to choose from. The samples are subjected to three levels of testing to confirm the results thereby enhancing the accuracy of results. Intra-laboratory and Inter-laboratory comparison of the results were also carried out on a regular basis.

 

What Are the samples to be collected for DNA Sexing?

For DNA sexing either feathers or blood spot can be collected. Feathers can be collected from the breast muscles and packed in a zip lock cover. For blood spot collection, gently prick the feet of the bird with sterile needle. Absorb the drop of in a piece of A4 sheet/tissue paper and packed in a zip lock cover.
